About the project
Diario Financiero sought to renew its website by updating both the design and the functionality of the systems to achieve a site with better performance.
Diario Financiero has multiple integrated systems that must communicate with each other to manage user subscriptions, send newsletters, update information and charts in real time, synchronize with the print version of the newspaper, and publish news content continuously, which added complexity to the project planning.
The work was carried out in close collaboration with the client’s team to consider all areas. The design changes include:
- New Market Data: The display of financial information on the site was updated, renewing the charts and the options users have to interact with and search for information.
- More options for the Press team: Editors and journalists have different types of displays for their content, allowing them to better highlight the most important content. Inside the articles, journalists can include elements such as quotes, highlighted figures, sidebars, related articles, charts, and more.
- Flexible homepage layout: Editors can reorder areas of the homepage, enable or disable sections, and select special displays for events or news of special relevance. This allows for highlighting different content on different days of the week and creating special features for important news events.
- Content migration and SEO: Diario Financiero has an extensive archive of historical news. While changes were made to the display of these old articles, URLs and SEO information were maintained so that search engines would not lose track of the content.
The launch of the new site was carried out smoothly without interruptions for users, subscribers, or journalists, while maintaining the functionality of all associated systems.
